The Atelier

Atelier Penny James is the work of Mackenzie Dunham, an independent craftsman producing fine leather goods by hand in Vancouver.

Each piece is cut, stitched, and finished at the bench. Production is deliberately limited. The work is unhurried and meticulous — in the tradition of French craftsmanship.

Leatherworking tools are neatly arranged on a wooden workbench, including awls, knives, a hammer, thread, needles, stamps, and a roller, suggesting a handcrafted leather goods workspace.
ARTISANAL VALUES

Anchored in artistry

We champion the preservation of traditional techniques and artisanal values, weaving a narrative of dedication and legacy in every stitch.

In a world of mass production and fleeting trends, Atelier Penny James stands as a testament to the enduring worth of authenticity, making each piece stand out as one-of-a-kind.

Every piece we produce is handcrafted using only the finest leathers and materials, highlighting his dedication to quality that is not just aesthetically superior but also enduring.

“The goal is not to produce more, but to produce better. Objects meant to be used daily, worn in, and passed down.”
